With the replacement of NeTS the cooperation between SBB Infrastructure and railway undertakings (RUs) changes fundamentally in Switzerland and presents all RUs in Switzerland with major changes in the next few years.
What is TMS
TMS (Traffic Management System) replaces the current system NeTS for the management of track requests in Switzerland and provides modern adapters and gateways to TMS. Additionally the responsibility for the communication between railway undertakings (RU) shifts from SBB Infrastructure to the RUs itself.
What is R2P
R2P enables the direct communication between railway undertakings (RU) through modern adapters and gateways and replaces services delivered in the past by SBB Infrastucture..
Challenges
For the introduction of TMS, the timetable is defined by SBB Infrastructure and takes places in large steps. All RUs active in Switzerland have to be ready to adapt to the content of introduced major changes.
Target Audience
All standard gauge RUs operating in Switzerland have to be prepared for the introduction of TMS and have to stick to the defined timetable.
