For the introduction of TMS into the IT landscape of a RU several potential solutions are possible. Which solution a RU selects depends very much of the size of the company, the level of automation and potential of the IT-infrastructure.
A RU has to decide early which solution to choose in order to ensure the management of tracks after introduction of TMS.
Interfaces and Adapters
With the introduction of TMS SBB Infrastructure provides interfaces for each module. The specification of these interfaces is available free of cost to everyone. The RU is responsible to organize or develop interfaces between its planning tools and TMS.
For each module an additional web-interface is available that allows to exchange data manually.
Migration Paths
Depending on the size of the RU and its level of automation individually designed migration paths can be defined in order to connect smoothly and over time to TMS.
